Student Ownership + Expert Structure

My goal as a college advisor is to manage the stressful parts of the college application process so you don’t have to. I work directly with students, while keeping parents informed and reassured.

Students lead the process, but I provide the roadmap.

This balance builds independence while ensuring families feel supported and confident throughout the journey. It also gives you, as a parent, the opportunity to step back and ENJOY your student in those last few years before they leave for school, while I guide them through the timelines, the research, and the application process.

The FitzSimmons College Advising Process

Choose between my complete package (Comprehensive 1:1 Advising + Common App Boot Camp) or Common App Boot Camp Only

Comprehensive 1:1 College Advising

Independent counseling focused solely on your student

Starting sophomore or junior year (I’m happy to meet with students briefly earlier, but I recommend students focus on high school their freshman year)

Individualized meetings every 2-3 months

There are two major objectives of this phase:

  • Craft a strategic list of colleges through thoughtful self-evaluation and guided independent research

  • Ensure coursework, extracurriculars, and leadership positions work together to tell your student’s story in a way that supports their college goals

  • All 1:1 College Advising students are automatically enrolled in the College App Boot Camp at no extra charge

    Total Investment: $1,500

Common App Boot Camp

My signature summer program provides a supported, group environment for students to complete their Common Application prior to the start of senior year, leading to stronger applications and a calm senior fall

Multiple sessions offered on each topic throughout the summer; students can attend one or multiple sessions for each topic, depending on their needs and schedule

Deliverables for the Common App Boot Camp are:

  • A timeline with key deliverables to provide structure throughout the process

  • A detailed comparison chart of schools on the application list

  • Completed Activities section of the Common App, with expert guidance on maximizing the impact of each activity

  • Completed Honors section of the Common App, including tips on often-overlooked honors

  • Completed Personal Statement as well as supplemental essays that may be required, including strategies and tips for impactful essays, as well as unlimited essay editing

  • Thoughtful requests for Letters of Recommendation to be delivered to teachers at the beginning of the year

Total Investment $500

“This was honestly life-saving for us! Not having to be the nagging parent, arguing over getting things done, was priceless.”
